A Portrait Session with Jill

I met Jill through the book group I joined when I first relocated. Unlike my husband, I couldn't bear the thought of life in a new city without friendly interaction, so set out to meet people almost as soon as the boxes were unloaded from the u-haul. Luckily, I met a whole group of ladies who inspire me, you know, when they're not making my insides hurt from laughter. This little group just keeps growing, so I'm happy Jill's become a new addition; and I'll admit, was pretty taken when she asked me to do these for her.

That light!

That light!

Snow Day in Oak Park

For those of you who are just getting to know me, you're likely unaware that when I announced I was moving to Chicago (or neari-sh), everyone almost died of laughter and thought I was joking. Right? Because there's no way Beth Priddy could possibly survive temperatures lower than an uncomfortable 40. BUT. Love (and I'll throw in a little adventure) drives you to do mysterious things... like pack your things, say goodbye to your family, and move 700 miles away. It's true. So here I am in lovely Oak Park, and have experienced more snow in a year in a half than I had in all my thirty years of gracing this planet. It's been pretty awesome!

Before the anticipated winter storm suddenly became a blizzard, I decided to put my adult pants on, grab my camera, and hit the town to capture the winter magic all around (you know, before it got crazy and visibility was almost zero). Enjoy these images of pillowy, white dust and be thankful you didn't have to dig your car out this morning!
